Directions To “Sunny Mellow”
From Albuquerque, New Mexico take the short drive East on I 40 through the scenic Tijeras Pass into the Fresh Clean Air of the Sparkling East Mountains!
Exit at the Tijeras/Cedar Crest Exit. Bear left at the Y on the off-ramp continuing towards Cedar Crest (Not Tijeras). Enter onto the Frontage Road (Old Route 66) and continue for about 100 yards past Molly's Bar on the Right.
At the next Y on the frontage road bear Right (do not go North under the freeway), to stay on Route 66 (the frontage road, also 333) for all of 15 feet.
Turn right on Camino Primera Agua and continue over speed bumps and the bridge over the creek.
When you come to a large widening of the road, stay to the right, driving between two older structures and continue swooping up the hill and over more speed bumps.
You will Pass the "Leaving the Village of Tijeras" Sign and crest the hill loosing the speed bumps, and descend into our beautiful Shangri-La Valley... making a sweeping counterclockwise turn at the bottom of the hill.
The first house on your left from the top of the hill is in the center of the sweeping turn in the road (that is not it).
You will Stay on the paved road, passing that first house on the left and both our Red and White very small OK (Om Krishna) Corral on your left… and Also Passing Our First Driveway leading up between the trees along Camino Primera Agua to the Rocky cliffs behind The “Protected and Serene “Sunny Mellow" Nestled below.
Passing the OK Corral and the 1st driveway to "Sunny Mellow"... The SECOND Large Building on the left at the bottom of the hill is number 71 Camino Primera Agua.
It is hard to find the number... so Look for the my Malibu days Surfboards and Mammoth Mountain Skis Over the Red and White Two Door Garage to confirm that you are there!
Park on a diagonal against the stone wall on the right or east side of the gravel driveway... and come up the flagstone stairs on the west side of the driveway to the front door guarded by lions.
It takes just 3 minutes once you turn on Primera Agua. It is not as long as it sounds from the description!
